For the past 20 years, Claretian Publications has been a steadfast companion to the Chinese Catholic community. Since its inception in 2007, its flagship publication, the Daily Gospel, has become a cornerstone of daily spiritual life for the faithful across Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
As the Hong Kong International Book Fair approaches, we celebrate a significant milestone: the forthcoming release of the Daily Gospel 2027, marking the 20th anniversary of this essential resource.
For the Claretian missionaries, this milestone is not merely a record of longevity, but a testament to their commitment to the Church’s evangelising mission. By bridging the gap between the Word of God and daily living, the Daily Gospel has nurtured countless hearts. Looking towards the future, the publishers remain dedicated to expanding their reach, hoping that their extensive collection of Bibles and biblical literature will continue to inspire and nourish the spiritual journey of an ever-growing community of the faithful.

Bridging generations: empowering youth through the Word
As the diocese intensifies its outreach to young people, Claretian Publications is responding with resources designed to make the sacred texts both accessible and engaging for the next generation. Recognising the need to speak the language of today’s youth, the Claretian commitment goes beyond traditional formats.
A centrepiece of this initiative is the Manga Messiah—a visually captivating, full-colour, 287-page volume available in both Chinese and English. By presenting the life of Jesus and his disciples through the vibrant medium of manga, Claretian Publications aims to invite young readers into the narrative of faith with fresh eyes. Complementing this, the publisher also offers the Daily Gospel for Children in both languages, ensuring that the youngest among us are “nurtured in the faith from their earliest years.”
This focus on accessibility is bolstered by a major scholarly undertaking. Having completed a new, comprehensive Bible translation in Simplified Chinese in 2025—featuring in-depth commentaries and Lectio Divina guidelines for every chapter—the team is now finalising the Traditional Chinese edition.
This five-volume set, a vital resource for all ages, is expected to be published by the end of 2026. Attendees at the upcoming Hong Kong International Book Fair can explore these offerings, including the five-volume Simplified Chinese set, at the Catholic Centre booth.
